Primary services provided by the warehouse are weighing, sampling,
and covering bales delivered by the gins. All cotton is properly stored in
modern metal buildings with approved sprinkler systems.
Franklin Cotton Warehouse is a federally bonded warehouse
licensed under the United States Warehouse Act with licensed capacity of 200,000
bales. The warehouse is responsible for issuing an electronic warehouse
receipt on each bale and cutting the sample for the A.M.S. classing office. This is
performed in a timely manner. Also, the warehouse stores a sample for the
buyers. The warehouse handles the shipment of cotton as ordered by merchants.
Franklin Cotton Warehouse is a service oriented warehouse
that takes great pride in shipping cotton as requested by the shippers and in accordance
with industry standards. The modern facility consists of an office building and 14
metal warehouses. Each warehouse building covers approximately 44,000
square feet, or about one acre, and stores 14,000-15,000 bales.
Every building is equipped with sprinkler and alarm systems. This is a computerized
warehouse with state-of-the-art computer equipment used to maintain records and handle
electronic warehouse receipts.
